Password manager for a small office

Most break-ins we clean up start with one password used in three places. A password manager costs a small office about $25 a month.

Prices checked October 5, 2026 on each company's own pricing page. Written by Canny Software, Palm Desert.

The pick

1Password Teams Starter Pack, $299.40 a year

It is priced at $2.49 a user a month, billed yearly, with a ten-user minimum. So an office of five pays for ten seats, and it is still about $25 a month. It is the one non-technical staff find easiest, and you can hire up to ten without the bill changing.

Runner-up

Bitwarden Teams, $4 per user

The cheapest honest per-seat price: $4 a user a month billed annually, $240 a year for five, with no minimum. The interface is plainer. There is a free plan for two users.

The low advertised price depends on prepaying for one or two years and on fixed pack sizes. We could not confirm the current price on their own page without starting a checkout, which is its own answer.

How to decide in two minutes

Buy 1Password if anyone in the office is nervous about technology. Buy Bitwarden if the $60 a year matters more than polish.

Either way, the first job is the same: move the bank, email and payroll logins in on day one, and change any password that is shared with a former employee.

Common questions

Is the password manager built into my browser enough?

It is better than nothing for one person. It does not let an office share a login safely or take access back when someone leaves.

What happens if someone forgets the master password?

On team plans an administrator can help that person recover their account. Set up two administrators so one is never locked out alone.

Can you set it up for us?

Yes. Ask on the contact page and we will quote it before starting.
